Friendly staff, free wifi, kitchen has plenty of cooking ware (but is a bit crowded at dinner time).
Place is clean, for the price amazing. A grocery store is close and there is a fridge you can use when labeling your food. The place has a piano, plenty of tables and chairs and even a few couches. The doors for the rooms are locked with keypads so no key is needed and checkout is very easy.

We changed our plans to stay on Reykjanes peninsula in our camper due to high winds the night before our flight home, stayed at lava instead for shelter. Really great campsite, good toilets showers washing machine. Pre booking online advised as it fills up fast. Hostel adjoining had food share facility which was great for the end of our week

Nous avons réservé une chambre familiale dans l’auberge de jeunesse (1 lit double et 1 lit superposé pour nos 2 enfants), nous sommes arrivés très tard dans la nuit après notre vol international. Grâce au code, nous avons pu entrer dans le bâtiment et dans notre chambre en toute autonomie. Très pratique pour dormir à 30 min de l’aéroport de Keflavik pour pas trop cher.
La localisation est proche de Reykjavik et d’un supermarché.
La chambre est équipé d’un chauffage, utile même en plein été !
Les parties communes étaient propres et il y avait très peu de monde donc pas d’attente pour utiliser les toilettes, douches et la cuisine.

In the evening, when I entered my room, there was already someone in my bed, and the room was already full. Apparently, everyone had a bed in this room.

Fortunately, there was still a resident who was awake and allowed me to go to his room where a bed was still available. I slept extremely poorly because my belongings were in my room, and I was sleeping in another room. I was afraid all night that someone would kick me out of the bed because a man entered the room around 2:30 AM, woke everyone up, turned on the light, and spoke loudly and aggressively to force a girl who was sleeping in her underwear to get out of the bed that was supposedly his. It was very degrading for her, and no one said anything because he seemed threatening and not at all friendly. I slept extremely poorly, and after explaining my problem to the concierge the next morning, he told me to send an email with my story so that I could get a refund. Someone responded to my email, apologizing for the inconvenience and saying they wanted to investigate the events of the evening and promised me a refund for my one-night stay.

I am still waiting for the refund and the outcome of this investigation…

If you had kept your word, I would have given a good rating because I would have thought that you would take the necessary measures to ensure that such an experience does not happen again at your establishment.

Great affordable hostel in a beautiful city with a very nice host. There is a shared kitchen and a washing machine which is handy. There is also a food-share shelf where you can take leftover food from previous travelers. It was a pleasant indoor stop on our otherwise camping trip.

La variabile competitiva per questa struttura, per chi non fa campeggio, è il prezzo. Non si trova nulla di così competitivo. Per tutto il resto è un delirio. Il servizio inesistente e il Manager è anche molto altezzoso, si stufa anche nel rispondere. I suoi giovani collaboratori almeno sono gentili e cercano di dar consigli, il Manager invece ha l'atteggiamento di un Troll. Le camere sono scarne, letti a castello basic e nulla più. Per la corrente giusto una presa per 6 persone. I bagni lasciamo stare. La posizione è sufficiente per i vari spostamenti.

Friendly staff, and I honestly can't say that enough! I stayed here in the summertime for 6 nights. I relied on public transit to get around. I give this hostel a 4 because of:
1. Location- Be aware that this hostel is a 45 minute bus ride outside of Downtown Reykjavik, and if you are relying on busses, this limits how long you can stay out for.
2. Cleanliness- Could be much cleaner.
3. Rooms- Beds were comfy enough, but there wasn't much space for everyone's luggage.

Overall, however, good for the price, and definitely beats the prices of those in Reykjavik Proper. And I enjoyed staying outside of downtown Reykjavik, because I got to explore Hafnarfjörður, too- be sure to check out Hellisgerdi Park!

We stayed at the campsite of this hostel the first and the last night of our trip in Iceland. The staff was really friendly and we were allowed to use the kitchen facilities of the hostel. Showers smell like egg but it is normal in Iceland. It is located in a really quiet neighbourhood and has a nice park next to it. Reykjavik city center is located about 10 min by car from there.
