We spent 2 nights here and wish we could have spent more! Very charming town! Hotel was very welcoming, clean, comfortable, and intimate. They have discount codes for whale watching and the geothermal spa, both of which I recommend!

If the sky is clear and the aurora forecast is good, you can see the northern lights right outside the main entrance.

Husavic Cape Hotel is the hotel of choice when visiting Husavic. Large bright, clean rooms, large bathrooms even by American standards. The water does not have the usual smell of sulfur that most hotels have in Iceland, the water is good and fresh. Breakfast in the library is the typical fare of all the hotels in Iceland; boiled eggs, thinly sliced cheeses and meats, breads of different varieties. There is plenty of coffee. a good selection of teas, orange juice and apple juice. There are plenty of sliced cakes and pastries to choose from and the wonderful staff keeps attention to the gusts as they replenish the selections during breakfast. I can't say enough about the staff. Wonderful people and very attentive. From the moment we arrived, Eston, the assistant manager, was very helpful, personable and very professional. We met Gunnar, the manager and owner of the hotel and his father. Wonderful people who do everything they can to make your stay comfortable and rewarding. You get a very easy to follow map of Husavic when you arrive and Gunnar or Eston will go over each of the restaurants, activities, businesses, shops and points of interest in Husavic. They will tell you about the history of the town, the industries, the family and most importantly, the significance of Iceland's contribution to the Apollo missions to the Moon. Go to the attached bar/lounge next door and enjoy a beer or mixed drink at Ja Ja Ding Dong, the bar that pays tribute to the movie Eurovision with Will Ferrell, Pierce Brosnan and Rachel McAdams. Gunnar actually opened the museum up to us so we could watch the movie and see the artifacts of the Eurovision events and the movie. To Gunnar, his father, Eston and all the wonderful staff at Cape Husavic Hotel; Well be back home as soon as we can. |ps. Try the traditional Icelandic stew that Gunnar makes! Oh. My. God is it good!

Was für ein aufregender Aufenthalt! Das Hotelzimmer hat sehr angenehme Betten, mit Blick auf den Hafen mit ruhiger Lage. Das Zimmer hat eine Badewanne, welche im Winter sehr angenehm ist. Das Hotel ist so gelegen, dass man einen schöne Aussicht auf den Ort hat, alles ist innerhalb von 10 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Auch das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit! Wir hatten zwar schlechte Bedingungen, da wir wegen schlechtem Wetter keine Ausflüge machen konnten, alle Restaurants geschlossen waren und wir im Hotel festsaßen - doch Gunnar, der Hotelbesitzer fuhr uns mit seinem Auto zum Supermarkt damit wir uns versorgen konnten. Am darauffolgen Tag wurden alle öffentlichen Busse gestrichen und wir hatten Sorge, dass wir es nicht rechtzeitig zu unserem Flug nach Akrueryi schaffen...glücklicherweise hatte Gunnar dort ein Meeting und nahm uns trotz des starken Windes mit! Ein wahrer Retter in der Not, diesen Aufenthalt werden wir nicht vergessen. Wegen dem schlechten Wetter haben wir viel Zeit im Hotel verbracht und waren sehr froh, dass dieses so gemütlich und angenehm eingerichtet war. Danke an alle Mitarbeiter*innen des Cape Hotels!

This is cool, but the bar plays music till late in the evening. Don’t go for room 201.|No gluten-free breakfast available

Alojamiento espectacular. Limpio, acogedor, tranquilo y detallista. Próximo al punto de salida de las excursiones de avistamiento de ballenas. Recomendable 100%. Optamos por no coger el desayuno porque nos pareció no acorde la calidad-precio pero aun así es un alojamiento de sobresaliente.

Lovely staff, spacious rooms, clean and tidy. We had a great two evenings here and slept really well. The location was convenient and situated next to the Eurovision exhibit with a cafe and bar inside. The hotel also provides free breakfast in the morning.

My friends and I stayed one night here when we were in Husavik for whale watching. I wish we stayed longer! I honestly can’t remember the last time I ever slept so well. Very comfortable warm beds and quiet atmosphere. Felt very welcome, chocolates on the bed, welcome notes, and nice breakfast spread in the morning. Dining area with beautiful old book collections. Would 100% recommend!

I can only recommend this hotel! We had a wonderful room with ocean view. Everything is nicely decorated, the staff is very friendly, breakfast is good. They also offer laundry service and in case of a zombie apocalypse, you are „free to use any items (…) to protect yourself“. 😉
