Picked up a car here in late August. The desk clerk was very polite and professional. We booked a VW polo but got upgraded to a Dacia Duster, which was useful for some roads but also meant a lot more gasoline for the road trip. Dropped off at the airport to catch an early flight (no surcharge) and promptly received an invoice by email confirming no issues. This branch can be busy when vans arrive from the airport buy they had plenty of desks to cope. So I would recommend this branch.

Renting from Firefly was the only negative thing about my time in Iceland. We were concerned that we were going to be late to pick up our car according to the office hours listed on their website and Google, so we tried repeatedly to contact the company. It was absolutely impossible to get through to anybody. No one picked up the phone and no one responded to the email I sent through the contact form on their website. The staff was completely inaccessible. Because no one answered us and we thought the office was closed, we weren't able to pick up our car until the next morning- at which time we found out the office is in fact open HOURS later than indicated on their website. Too bad no one responded to my NUMEROUS attempts to get in contact! Not only did we pay for an entire night of renting the car we couldn't use, we also had to then pay for a cab because we didn't have the car we planned for. This would have been easily avoided if the staff had simply picked up the phone, or replied to my email! When we got to the office the next morning to finally pick up the car, the staff was completely rude and unapologetic. They tried to get me to sign for the car's condition without showing me the car first, PLUS they added on an additional fee which was never disclosed anywhere else beforehand- all my reservation documents said my reservation was already paid in full. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

Like others have stated, this was also our only negative experience in Iceland. The desk employee at drop off fraudulently charged us a late fee. We showed him the documents proving that the car was not late. He laughed and said said “So what. I don’t care.” He refused to transport us back to the airport unless we paid the fee. We were nervous to miss our flight so we paid it. We are in the process of disputing the charges. I’m sure we will be successful but this is a hassle we are annoyed about. We will certainly avoid this company in the future.

Alles perfekt gelaufen.
Das Auto wurde online gebucht. Wir haben es vor der angegebenen Zeit benötigt, dies war garkein problem. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Preis war echt klasse.
Das Auto hatte eine Schramme, das Personal hat sich das mit uns angeschaut und notiert.

Das Auto war schön gepflegt, ein Navigationsgerät hatte es inklusive obwohl es nicht gebucht war.

Die Rückgabe war problemlos per Nachtschalter möglich. Ich verstehe die negativen Bewertungen nicht.

Stay away from this company. They failed to deliver the car and did not answer phone calls. Ruined one day of vacation. We had payed in advance. Did not offer any compensation.
The car was rented through aroundisland.is, so be careful with them too.
