We had a private riding tour near the river. It was great. The owner Simbi and Marzena, our guide, declared and showed a lot concerning the horses and were very friendly. The horses were well educated, seemed to be in a very good order and felt well. Thank you for the great impressions.

Absolutely fantastic horse riding experience! I have done several of these types of rids on different trips. This was probably my favorite. Horses were great. Saddles were comfortable. The view was amazing! We had planned on a mountain ride but ended up doing a mixed ride starting by the river and then trekking up the side of the mountain. Both were beautiful. I had looked at several different potential horse riding establishments across our Iceland trip and wasn't sure which one to pick. Many of them had great reviews which is a nice luxury. But at the end of the day I had absolutely no regrets we chose Tvistur.

I had the best experience ever, a dream came true with riding through the beautiful nature reserve with Mountain View on a wonderful Icelandic horse. Everyone was so friendly, the horses are absolutely great and I also learned a lot about birds whilst riding! Thank you sooo much 💚🐴

I had so much fun going through the rivers!

Maybe some day I will be back 🙂

We had a lovely Ride with Tvistur. After a bit of confusion as there where numerous guests who came wirhout Booking ahead we were assigned our horses.
Both me and my daughter, who is 8 and a beginner, Had horses that suited us very Well and were a great match. I Loved how eager and energetic my horse felt and felt very secure with my daughters horse as well.
The area is beautiful, we went along the River among a bunch of geese and then headed up through blueberry Heath which was exiting and gave us breathtaking Views of Eyjafjördur.
What truly Stands Out though was how the horses were treated. Everything was in great condition, we we're asked to brush horses before and after the ride. They even checked the hooves twice during the Rides after a Stony path.
Meanwhile my little daughter (4) took " Walk" with a horse which was also a great experience for her. She also spend alot of time cuddeling the horses as they were very curious and friendly.
Thank you for the great experience, we would Love to be Back.

Amazing experience with Tvistur. Family run, very kind and knowledgeable. Horses were perfect for any type of rider including first timers. We did the two hour valley ride and it was perfect! Just email them in advance to make a booking. They are very accommodating. Thank you for the experience!

Booked a spontaneous ride while staying in Dalvik for three nights and I was impressed by how fast and accommodating they were. I went for the private valley tour (1.5 hours). My guide was super friendly and explained so much about the area and all the birds we spotted. The ride itself was really fun as we went through water several times and even did some galop at the end. Halfway through, we stopped for a short break to enjoy the scenery and to let the horses rest. The horses were super pretty and well behaved. I paid 11,500 ISK for the tour plus 2,000 ISK extra for the private option which came to around €100 or $110.

Father and son, took us on an unforgetable ride in a snowy day of December. Our dauthers will never forget this wonderful experience. The Icelandic horses are very beautiful and well taken care of. The Tvistur river tour started with an extra half and hour of basic training indoor, in one of their big halls. They provided all equipment and took very good care of us. At the end they even allowed us to feed the horses and pet them . What an awesome experience! Highly recommended!

I highly recommend this place for horse riding. It is family run and the hosts are amazing. First of all, Elin responded to my emails promptly on Christmas Day! I was not expecting that! They truly care for the animals and are full of knowledge. The early morning winter landscape was amazing. Our family loved every minute of it. They paid special attention to ensure that we were having a good time but everything was safe.
After the horse ride, they stayed and chatted to us over coffee and biscuits. Just a lovely family and setting. Thank you!
