I can't rate this place higher I'm sorry, and I just have to express my honest opinion.
So everything was fine with the car at first. The delivery was smooth and the person who gave me the car (I think his name is Krist) was excellent and he was funny. For the first few days everything was normal. Until I reached the north of Iceland. There was too much snow and ice and I had some serious troubles: at first the car couldn't reach the top of a simple hill on the main road because of the ice and the snow. I tried to drive through this road but the car couldn't. I only managed on the third try. Then a few hours later I had a serious accident in a place called Laugur in the north where my car slipped out of the road because of the summer tyres! I was stuck there for the whole night on the edge of a small cliff because I had nowhere to go! The next morning I had to call the road assistance which I paid 550! euros. After that I managed to leave this place but I was unable to continue because of the summer tyres the car had. So I told them that the company has to find a way to change the summer tyres into Winter tyres or else I wouldn't be able to return the vehicle to them. They responded to that and they managed to find me a mechanic to change them so I could continue my trip. I was told at that point that they were not able to change the Summer tyres earlier because of a law in Iceland which I was unaware of AND THEY KNEW ABOUT IT FROM THE START. Also the "new winter tyres" eventually turned out that they were used and a couple days later one of them blew out and got flat. I had to get out of the car and take to a mechanic to fix it and put it back to the car! Also the bolts (the metal things at the wheel of the car) were extremely rusty! At this point my whole road trip was destroyed because of all those problems and in addition to that the battery of the car died! They came immediately to change the old car with a new one but it was literally the last day of my trip and that didn't make the things up.
To conclude I lost half the days of my trip (they offered to refund me for only 1 day 😂) because of their old car that had so many problems... Also they denied to pay the cost of the road assistance or part of it which was partly or fully their fault that I had the accident on the first place... ITS UNACCEPTABLE TO PUT ON A RISK YOUR OWN CUSTOMER AND NOT INFORM HIM ABOUT HOW THE WINTER TYRES WORK WHILE ITS ALMOST MID OF OCTOBER+ TO DENY TO PAY THE HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY AND TIME THAT HE THREW TO THE GARBAGE...
If you want to have fun in Iceland with a trustworthy car just don't choose them...

Great car rental company. The rental went without any problems. The prices are very good for Iceland and the service is very nice. It deserves nothing less than 5 stars.

We have a camper van from Happy/cheap campervans and i am really happy to say that we had the black colour van for 5 days and we have really enjoyed the Iceland cross country drive. The quality of the vehicle was really good and it didn't gave us any surprises on any day. The price to quality of the items provided by this company was v good and we have no complaints. We Highly recommend them to anyone of our friends or family. The staff briefed us about all the important details about Iceland, driving conditions, laws and vehicle.

We booked the Dacia Dokker for our 10 day trip and it met all our needs and expectations. Although small, the van was cosy and had plenty of space and storage (we were able to sit up and fit two large suitcases along with the other extras underneath). It comes equipped with gas stove, pots cutlery, we opted for the travel pack which included duvet, chairs, table, WiFi and premium protection.
Along with being affordable to hire the van is great on fuel and we didn’t have any issues throughout the 10 days. Staff were also very helpful and polite. Picking up and dropping off is straight forward, we had no issues getting one of their free shuttles from the airport and were able to drop the van back before opening times due to our early flight back home.

However, the service is easy to book & the communication is excellent. They are easily one of, if not the cheapest way to visit Iceland.

We had the best time on our trip around Iceland with Cheap Campervans. The van is simple but cosy, it has everything you need! And also the stuff is super nice and helpful.

If you want to explore Iceland but don’t want to spend a crazy amount of money to do it, this is it. We got the adventure pack and felt like we had everything we needed. We stayed warm without a heater in 30 degree Fahrenheit weather. It’s definitely not luxury but it’s a cheap way to explore Iceland. If we ever come back, I would book through cheap campervans again.

Professional and lovely staff, top service, best price and good cars. We chose the Dacia Dokker for our 16 days iceland road trip end of march, with the full insurance pack, including all extras. The sleeping bag with duvets were just enough for the temperatures. The staff was accommodating and flexible with the pick up and return of the car.
