Very nice hotel between the airport and Reykjavik. It's very clean, the staff is A++, there's nothing extra but also nothing we felt like was missing. I really liked that they partnered with the gym next door instead of a small hotel gym so you can get a nice workout in. We didn't try the restaurant - there was a bonus a short walk away so we just bought some snacks there for dinner.

Stayed five nights coming into 2025 after our Air BnB fell through. We couldn’t have wished for a better mishap.
Hotel Vellir completely surprised us in a wonderful way. Check in was smooth and easy. Breakfast had more than enough to choose from to get our day started. The hotel is connected to a top notch Reebok gym with all the free weights and machines you need. Plus a sauna and jacuzzi if you need one.
We were able to enjoy their New Year’s Eve spread which consisted of a delicious four course dinner. The meal started with an exquisite asparagus soup moving into a salmon salad topped with roe. From there we enjoyed a hearty roasted chicken breast and finished the meal with a cream filled chocolate cake with a side of ice cream.
The hotel location is right off the main highway and close to a Bonus grocery store, a Thai restaurant and a bakery. The only hotel set back was that the bed mattresses were a bit soft for my taste and we were about 20 minutes from Reykjavik. Depending on how you look at it, this can also be a good thing since we were far from the crowds.

Easy check-in and out. Nice, clean rooms, only missed a fridge. Simple, but sufficient and filling breakfast. Waffles were a bonus! Stayed here the night before leaving Iceland. Great choice when renting a car.

Nice comfy rooms in the typical Nordic manner. The concierge is friendly and they've free breakfast every morning. Have watched some exquisite sunrises over the hills in the distance.

Très belle expérience à l'hôtel Vellir.
Nous avons choisi cet hôtel pour sa proximité avec l'aéroport KEF pour notre première nuit.
Nous avions réservé une chambre classique et à notre arrivée la dame de la réception extrêmement accueillante et gentille nous informe que l'hôtel a surclassé notre chambre.
Nous avons finalement eu une corner room avec des vitres immenses et les aurores boréales s'étant montrées dès notre premier jour en Islande nous avons parfaitement pu les observer.
Un immense merci pour votre accueil, je recommande cet hôtel à 100%.
Idem pour l'accueil des personnes du restaurant, le burger Vellir est excellent !

房間乾淨 廁所很大, 廁所及房內都各自有暖器, 非常好,
早餐正常, 有各種面包 芝士 殼物等 花生醬也是粗粒款的 (加分)

缺點是 水壓有點低 床太軟 房間的燈有點暗

Hotel da prendere in considerazione il primo giorno in Islanda per approfittare con una visita alla Blue Lagoon. Posizionato fronte strada principale ma non rumoroso : di notte il traffico sparisce. Equivalente ad un nostro 3 stelle. Camere piccole, io avevo la 417 . No cassaforte no minibar. Ampio parcheggio. colazione minimale . Latte fresco. Se necessitate di caffè deca chiedetelo. (In Islanda è quasi impossibile trovarlo negli hotel o Supermercati ).

The hotel was perfect for our stay near the airport – just a few minutes away, ideal for early flights. The rooms were very clean and well-maintained, making the stay very comfortable. We were especially impressed with the delicious breakfast, which offered a wide selection of fresh options. Additionally, the nearby town of Hafnarfjörður is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!
