This was one of the best guided tours we have experienced. Helga was excellent! She greeted us at our cruise ship and proceeded to provide us with amazing information about the history and culture of her adopted town. She creatively weaves a story as she led us through the streets, showing us photos, maps and historic buildings that expertly illustrated the past. She wore dress from back in the day and even shared some traditional food. It was so interesting to "time travel" with her, and the details she shared were interesting and colorful. Our tour also included a nature walk and she extended her hospitality to show us her garden and home, and explain the geography, flora and fauna of the area. She treated us to a welcoming coffee and some Icelandic chocolate treats. Afterwards, she brought us to see the church, where she shared the beautiful story of the town's special clay bird art installation. Helga is smart, hardworking and creative. She does her research and loves her corner of the world. She specializes in small groups, and provides excellent value for the price. She pours her heart into her walks. She was flexible and easy to email. She made us feel like old friends. We would highly recommend her tour and hope to one day visit her again. Nothing on the ship's offerings came close to this innovative experience.

We loved our experiences with Helga and Tobias during our visit to Isafjordur with a cruise! Our small group tour was personal, informative and just what we were looking for. Helga provided information about the town and its history and then we continued onto a forest walk with Tobias. They shared the beautiful landscape filled with wonderful stories. Thank you!

Helga was a fantastic guide! She is so courteous and knowledgeable! We had a wonderful day with her, we participated in all of the activities she provided, she is a dynamo! We never would have received such outstanding service from an excursion off the ship. She is truly a gem!

I loved Isafjordur and Helga and Tobias made this enchanting village more special with their wonderful walking tour. It was so nice to connect with people that know the town, it’s history and know Iceland, past and present. Take the walking tour, the nature tour too. Some friends also had lunch at Helga’s home and raved about it. I wish we had too. Dress warm and where hiking shoes. Go visit the bakery too. Enjoy.

A wonderful tour of this little town in Iceland. It was very interesting to hear about the history of the community, the architecture and the challenges with food. Our host was knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.

Our day with Helga was the highlight of our cruise! She is warm, informative and showed us the best that Iceland and Isafjordur has to offer. The coffee and waffles at the quaint cottage was so much fun and delicious. I strongly recommend Helga to anyone interested in a authentic and nature filled tour.
