Know that just steps away, on the best street in Reykjavík, you can stay at a real hotel with a reception, a good restaurant, secure locks on doors, booking services for all the tours, and white, clean sheets. And, it’s less expensive!
I don’t understand the good reviews about this old, unkempt house in a back alley with steep steps receives. No TV. No amenities. Smells like sewage. The kitchen has only a toaster and water heater; no stove or microwave. The owner is raking in the money and putting nothing back to make guests comfortable.

In addition, if you don’t like strange workers and others suddenly opening the door, go elsewhere! It happened 4 times in my 2 nights there! The woman who owns this can’t be bothered to let you know in advance.

I was so relived to stay at the hotel next to it!

Много добро местоположение, съвсем близо до емблематичната църква Hallgrímskirkja. Изключително уютна къща с хубави стаи и баня, както и много приятна кухня-трапезария. Чистотата беше на много високо ниво. Отлична комуникация със собственика. Цената е една от най-добрите за този район и такъв тип място за настаняване. Определено си струва!

Very good location, room is clean with comfortable bed. The price is good as well. I did the solo trip, here’s a good place to stay.

Bring your own pillows! They only give you one very thin one and there's no desk to ask for more.

Nice little guesthouse right in the center of the tourist promenade.
The rooms are quiet and it's very easy to avoid the others staying in the house.
Shower is nice and high pressure.

Could really use a microwave in the kitchenette area to allow reheating leftovers.

Very very bad place to stay.
All flat is UNDER ground level. Our room only has a small window that connects to the street at ground level and rubbish containers are placed next to the window (you can imagine all smell come in).
Also, there is work in the building nearby and the noise go directly to our room
Bathroom not clean after last visitors :S. And the flat hasn't been ventilated. They say that towels are included but not in our case.
No cooking space neither.
I would definitely go somewhere else.

Beautiful rooms with a lovely furniture. Very central - you are straight in the heart of Reykjavík.

But it’s very bad soundproofed so you hear every step an another tenant makes. And the doors open and close very loudly. You definitely need ohropax!! Our room was facing the courtyard where many loud people talked until early morning.

Sehr zentral gelegenes kleines Hotel. Für den Preis absolut unschlagbar, die Zimmer und das Bad sind sauber und gepflegt. Grundsätzlich ist alles da was man braucht, nur leider fehlt ein Ofen/eine Mikrowelle in der Küche. Sehr ordentlich organisiert, uns hat es hier gut gefallen!

Basic room but clean and warm. Shared kitchen with everything you’d need. It was in a perfect location for good bars and food. While not the fanciest it was a good price in a great location. A little difficult to find on iPhone maps, it’s down the side of the ion city hotel

Un posto con delle camere per nulla insonorizzate, si sentiva tutto il rumore proveniente dall'esterno e dalle camere al piano di sotto. Inoltre la struttura non possiede un parcheggio privato e bisogna cercarlo nelle vicinanze a pagamento. |Il bagno non è accessoriato e non contiene sufficienti asciugamani. La stanza con molte parti aventi soffitti bassi e quindi richiedeva di abbassare la testa. |Per niente consigliato
